This page features some of the presentation designs I’ve created, as applied to Powerpoint and Google Slides. The days of the basic powerpoint template are gone and there’s so much potential for engaging, eye-catching design. Throughout my Master’s program, as well as presentations I’ve given as a staff member at the University of Washington, I’ve had the opportunity to create some of these designs.
Like many design projects, the first step is to assess the content and establish a visual approach that complements and enhances that content. Once I establish a visual style, I then apply that to each slide. There are a couple different ways to do this - visually delineating each section, or visually delineating each slide type, depending on the presentation content. The goal is to keep the audience engaged in the presentation, enhancing viewer’s information retention rather than distracting them from presentation content.
